First Grade Math Problems – Story Problems

Welcome to the Breaking Down the Standards Series. Now that we have covered all things ADDITION & SUBTRACTION, this post will be a deep dive into first grade word problems. First grade problem solving will be one of the most challenging topics you'll cover, so you'll want to be aware of the Common Core / TEKs standards to help your students get the most out of your lessons. 1. Summer Camp: Week 6

Hi-Dee-Ho Campers! Can you believe this is the final week of our Classroom Callouts Summer Camp?!? We've had such a great time and certainly hope you did too. Let's take a stroll down memory lane and visit back on all the fun things we've done together in the past six weeks. Reading Challenge Camping BINGO! Day at the Beach Silly Story Summer Fun Scavenger Hunt Letter From Camp Silly Story For our final camp activity we've got another great scavenger hunt. Bust out this fun game the next time you're headed for the beach to keep the kiddos busy (and maybe buy you enough time to get a few chapters into that new book you've been dying to read). The kids will have a grand old time scouring the beach to find all the items on the cards. Summer Camp: Week 4

Hi-Dee-Ho campers, welcome to week four of the Classroom Callouts Summer Camp! Can you believe it's already the last week of July?! How have you been spending your days? We've been making lots of tasty popsicles, getting out for early morning hikes before the heat sets in and really leaning into the slow easiness that summer seems to bring. Here's a little re-cap of all the fun things we've done in the last three weeks of our summer camp: Reading Challenge Camping BINGO Day at the Beach Silly Story Alrighty, let's get this week started! Summer Camp: Week 2

Hey there campers! Welcome to week two of to the Classroom Callouts Summer Camp ~ we're so glad you're here. If you missed last week, you can check out the post here and get started by diving head first into the summer reading challenge.  Alrighty, let's kick this week off with a fun game that the kiddos will love (heck, even adults will want to get in on this). Can I get a show of hands from all the BINGO! fans out there? But allow me to clarify, this ain't no ordinary, plain-old BINGO. Not. Even. Close. What we have here, ladies and gentlemen, is a BINGO game so epic in proportions that it caused quite the commotion, and dare I say, brought out a highly-competitive nature amongst our volunteers at the Classroom Callouts Activity Testing Facility. We wondered if it was safe to unleash it into the world, but after careful consideration and lengthy conversations with our team of lawyers, it was ultimately deemed safe and fit for use.
