Teachers know that exposing kids to large amounts of Seasonal vocabulary words with pictures, can help them in many ways.
Seasonal Vocabulary Words
There are so many great vocabulary words for every season or holiday. Exposing your students to these words in an engaging way, can give them the practice they need to grow in reading, writing and spelling.
Winter Words
Words like gloves, scarf, vest and sweater would be great for a story about a cold winter day. Weather words like snow storm and blizzard would emerge and connect science to writing!
Spring Vocabulary Words
Words like butterfly, umbrella and sprout and nest could be used for an expository piece about weather, life cycles or plants.
Summer Words
At the end of the year, when we need students to be able to sit and work for extended periods, having a great set of summer vocabulary words at their fingertips can be very beneficial. Words like sprinkler, towel, goggles and sandals lend themselves to writing about summer adventures.
Vocabulary Words with Pictures
Since some kids may not be familiar with all of the vocabulary words provided, they need pictures to help them understand. Once they see the picture, they’ll more readily remember what the word is and how to use it.
